Softball Recap: Mcallen Beats Sharyland for Their Third Straight Win

McAllen proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over the Sharyland Rattlers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 18th.

Leah Sorensen was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Koraima Izaguirre, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

The victory was the third in a row for McAllen, bringing their record up to 5-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Sharyland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coincidentally, McAllen and Sharyland will both be playing Rowe the next time they take the field. McAllen will host Rowe at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sharyland will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
