Basketball Recap: O'Connell Comes Up Short

O'Connell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Brazosport Christian Eagles, falling 45-8. The Buccaneers were probably out for revenge after losing 44-18 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brazosport Christian found their leader in sophomore Charity Catoe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Catoe has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bo Coburn, who posted eight points.

O'Connell's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Brazosport Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Legacy Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Brazosport Christian will host Legacy Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while O'Connell will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th.
