Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Comes Up Short

Carolina Forest fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Heritage on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Heritage Mountaineers by a score of 4-3.

Carolina Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Nesheiwat, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Brooke Geoghegan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Carolina Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Heritage, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina Forest will challenge Socastee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carolina Forest's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Socastee's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Heritage, they will square off against Loudon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
