Football Recap: Le Grand Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Le Grand dropped to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the Stone Ridge Christian Knights. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 43-26 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Diego Martinez, who threw for 183 yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Thomas Benting helped Martinez out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and one touchdown.

As for Stone Ridge Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games.

It was another big night for Marcus Gray, who rushed for 48 yards and one TD, and also threw for 124 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Grand will face off against Gustine at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Reds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they will square off against Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
