Basketball Recap: Everton Takes a Loss

Everton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 52-42 to Hurley. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Everton of the 69-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Everton still got an impressive performance from Olivia Sartin, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sartin a new career-high in assists (five).

Everton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Hurley, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everton will face off against School of the Ozarks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hurley, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
