Softball Recap: San Diego Academy Comes Up Short

San Diego Academy extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-3 in the process. They lost 19-9 to the Ocean View Christian Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 20-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

As for Ocean View Christian, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

For Ocean View Christian's part, Tori Worthington was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Worthington has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Della Sandoval, who went 1-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Diego Academy will take on Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocean View Christian, they will square off against Bonsall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
