Baseball Recap: Liberal Takes a Loss

If Liberal was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Dodge City on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redskins lost 18-8 to the Demons on Thursday. The Redskins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Ethan Olmstead made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Landon Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Liberal has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Dodge City, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-14 record.

Looking ahead, Dodge City will face off against Andover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Demons are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Liberal will be paying especially close attention to Dodge City's contest: after Dodge City faces off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they'll take on Liberal again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
