League recap: Columbus East tops Shelbyville to extend winning streak

Hoosier Hills recap November 13, 2013

Columbus East extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Hills this week by beating Shelbyville, 42-7. This was the team's 12th consecutive win.

Columbus East took down the Golden Bears 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Markell Jones ran for 167 yards during the win.

Floyd Central's dynamic duo of Colton Kimm and Brandon Stout proved tough for Whiteland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kimm threw for 112 yards and 1 touchdown and Stout had 64 yards receiving. Gaige Klingsmith helped Floyd Central's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bob Gaddis' team bested Shelbyville.

Seymour's Austin Sutton and Zach Schlatterer have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Sutton has thrown for 1,421 yards this season, while Schlatterer has 36 catches for 828 yards. Tuwan Payton from New Albany leads the league in rushing with 2,177 yards.

The Olympians led the league in scoring this week by notching 42 points on Patrick Parks' team. Jones ran for 167 yards in the win.
