Baseball Recap: Burton's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Leadership Griffin. That's more bragging rights for the Pumas, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Joshua Soriano made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Burton: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Zimry Rucker was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Burton is undefeated when Rucker posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Roger Solano-Casco was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Burton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Burton's win bumped their record up to 5-3.
