Baseball Recap: Riverview Takes a Loss

Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Airport Jets. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jets earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Riverview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennen Fritz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. Another was Max Rebeka, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 7-27. As for Airport, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Riverview will head out on the road to square off against Allen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Airport, they will square off against Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
