Basketball Game Preview: Ryle Raiders vs. Dixie Heights Colonels

Ryle has gone 9-1 against Dixie Heights recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Ryle Raiders will head out to take on the Dixie Heights Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ryle is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newport Central Catholic on Friday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaelyn Jones, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The game was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Aschermann, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Ryle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Dixie Heights had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Pandas by a score of 68-55. 68 seems to be a good number for the Colonels as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Ryle's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Dixie Heights, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Ryle lost to Dixie Heights on the road by a decisive 68-52 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Ryle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
