Softball Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Liberty Lancers
After flying high against Fountain-Fort Carson last Saturday, Rampart came back down to earth. The Rampart Rams took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Lancers on Thursday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Cecilia Tinan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Ward, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Rampart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in five consecutive contests.
