Basketball Game Preview: Woods Charter Wolves vs. Wake Prep Academy Guardians

Woods Charter is 0-3 against Wake Prep Academy since January of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Wolves will welcome the Guardians at 6:00 p.m. Woods Charter will be strutting in after a win while Wake Prep Academy will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Woods Charter sidestepped River Mill for a 27-25 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woods Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wesley Oliver, who posted nine points. Anna Robards was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Wake Prep Academy came up short against Wake Forest on Friday and fell 60-49.

Despite the defeat, Wake Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Beanie Ballman scored ten points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Hines, who had six points.

Woods Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Wake Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Woods Charter suffered a grim 67-46 defeat to Wake Prep Academy in their previous matchup last Tuesday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolves were down 38-17.
