Softball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Holly on Wednesday, Oxford came back down to earth. The Wildcats lost 8-2 to the Riverview Pirates on Saturday.

Makayla Ganz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ella Nichols also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Riverview, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

When Oxford and Riverview next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Wildcats will challenge Seaholm and their five-game winning streak at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Riverview will try to stop Lakeland's six-game winning streak when they meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
