Baseball Recap: Richardson Triumphs

Richardson won the last time they faced MacArthur and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Cardinals 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Cal Attel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Cage, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Max Hayes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Richardson's record is now 15-12-1. As for MacArthur, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-12.

Coming up, Richardson will head out on the road to challenge Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Colts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. MacArthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
