Volleyball Recap: Gibbon Comes Up Short

Gibbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Loup. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Loup apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Cove Fries paced Gibbon's offense, picking up five kills. Fries got some help from Claire Clark and her ten assists.

Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for South Loup, the victory snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 5-19 record.

Gibbon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Wood River on the 13th. As for South Loup, they will challenge Mullen at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
