Basketball Game Preview: Beatty Hornets vs. Round Mountain Knights

Beatty is 0-10 against Round Mountain since January of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Beatty Hornets will challenge the Round Mountain Knights at 3:00 p.m.

Beatty is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Tonopah, falling 48-18.

Meanwhile, Round Mountain beat Indian Springs 47-35 last Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Round Mountain's win came from a few key players Beatty will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Layla Faga, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of Round Mountain's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 6-1 (and 6-7 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Faga, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Round Mountain's record now sits at 12-8. As for Beatty, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Beatty was dealt a bruising 50-18 defeat at the hands of Round Mountain when the teams last played back in January. Can Beatty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
