Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Burbank

The Southside Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Burbank Bulldogs at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Southside's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Southside didn't have quite enough to beat Southwest Legacy and fell 2-1. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Veterans Memorial who was credited with the win on Saturday. Veterans Memorial got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Burbank's three. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southside fell to 1-1-2. As for Burbank, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Southside was able to grind out a solid victory over Burbank when the teams last played back in January of 2020, winning 4-2. Does Southside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burbank turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
