What is Self Myofacial Release?

Self Myofacial Release (SMFR) is a corrective exercise technique used to improve muscular imbalances.

Self Myofacial Release (SMFR) is a corrective exercise technique used to improve muscular imbalances. SMFR or in other words, a self massage, aids in the recovery of damaged tissue from hypertrophy and any postural deviation you might have.

SMFR should be the number one exercise you should do even before you warm up.  We spend the majority of our day sitting down in a car or in class with our body in all sorts of funky positions.  This prolonged and repetitive process is only doing us more harm than good.

Stimulate your muscles through active release by adding pressure to certain areas like the gluteus, IT  band and calves. Allowing proper blood flow will help reduce your chances of injury. Please review my video on SMFR located in my twelve week training program next to my bio and start today.

Keep watching the Performance Center for more tips and highlights.
