Volleyball Recap: CHESS Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Milford Christian on Monday, CHESS Christian came back down to earth. The Royals lost 3-0 to Spring Valley Academy on Tuesday.

CHESS Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-10, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Esther Carter and Sofia Tumpak, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Greta Miron and her four assists. Halle Carroll controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

CHESS Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coming up, CHESS Christian will take on East Dayton Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. CHESS Christian is facing East Dayton Christian at the right time seeing as East Dayton Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Spring Valley Academy, they will square off against Germantown Christian at 7:15 p.m. on September 4.
