Basketball Recap: Will Camp's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Abilene Christian over Lubbock Christian

After flying high against Weatherford Christian on Friday, Abilene Christian came back down to earth. The Abilene Christian Panthers fell to the Lubbock Christian Eagles 67-61. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Camp, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points. That's the most points Camp has posted since back in November of 2024. Brooks Armstrong was another key player, going 7 of 11 en route to 16 points.

Abilene Christian's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Lubbock Christian, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.

Abilene Christian and Lubbock Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Abilene Christian (ranked 334th) will meet Covenant Classical (ranked 897th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Abilene Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Lubbock Christian will face off against Trinity at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 1,314 places (279 vs. 1593).
