Basketball Game Preview: Jones County Greyhounds vs. McDonough Warhawks + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Jones County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the McDonough Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jones County not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 1st (when they won 74-26). They were the clear victors by a 55-33 margin over Lee County.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamiyah Adams, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Desirae Dumas, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McDonough). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Meadowcreek 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warhawks have posted since December 20, 2024.

McDonough found their leader in sophomore Amira Carter, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 18 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Yashiah Suttle, who scored eight points and five rebounds.

McDonough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Jones County back to even at 1-1. As for McDonough, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Jones County against McDonough in their previous meeting back in February, as the squad secured a 74-26 victory. In that game, the Greyhounds amassed a halftime lead of 46-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
