Baseball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield lost against Richland County back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mules lost 8-1 to the Tigers. The Mules have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb King, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. King also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Richland County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Fairfield will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lawrenceville at 4:30 p.m. As for Richland County, they will head out to face off against Cisne at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Runnin' Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
