Basketball Game Preview: East Canton Hornets vs. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints

East Canton and Tuscarawas Central Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The East Canton Hornets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

East Canton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Conotton Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Strasburg-Franklin on Saturday and fell 35-33. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for East Canton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

East Canton beat Tuscarawas Central Catholic 46-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will East Canton repeat their success, or does Tuscarawas Central Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
