Orestimba extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 13-11 in the process. Everything went their way against the Hilmar Yellowjackets as they made off with an 18-7 win. Considering the Warriors have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ellery Gustafson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Machado was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Rae Oliveros also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Orestimba always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
As for Hilmar, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10. They haven't had much luck with Orestimba recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
On Hilmar's side, Emma Gomes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Karley Segura, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Orestimba didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 victory against Atwater on the 8th. As for Hilmar, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-6 defeat against Sonora on the 8th.
