Preview: Bovina Mustangs vs. McLean Tigers

Bovina has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Bovina Mustangs and the McLean Tigers will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Bovina will be strutting in after a victory while McLean will be coming in after a defeat.

Bovina scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 62-21 victory over Accelerate Christian at home. That 62-21 margin sets a new team best for Bovina this season.

Bovina's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Lara, who scored 14 points. Lara continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eric Solis, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to McLean, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a serious blow against Silverton last Friday, falling 58-26. While losing is never fun, McLean can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1631st, while Silverton is ranked 681st).

Bovina is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-10 record this season. As for McLean, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
