Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Spartans vs. Belleville Tigers

For the second straight game, Stevenson will face off against Belleville. The Spartans will challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Stevenson was able to grind out a solid victory over Belleville, taking the game 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Nate Patterson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Joe Berry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 games.

Stevenson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-15-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Belleville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13-1.
