Baseball Recap: Exeter Township Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

Exeter Township won the last time they faced Reading and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Red KNights with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Exeter Township got a great performance from Gavin Miller as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter Redding was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jake Hafer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Exeter Township is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Reading, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Exeter Township will take on rival Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Reading is set to square off against their familiar foe Wilson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
