Preview: North Royalton Bears vs. Twinsburg Tigers
North Royalton is 0-10 against Twinsburg since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The North Royalton Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Twinsburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. North Royalton has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27.
North Royalton suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Stow-Munroe Falls, falling 63-21. While losing is never fun, North Royalton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Stow-Munroe Falls is ranked 14th).
Meanwhile, Twinsburg came up short against Solon on Saturday and fell 53-43. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Twinsburg in their matchups with Solon: they've now lost nine in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kayla Cellura, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Dye, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
North Royalton's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for Twinsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
North Royalton was taken down by Twinsburg 57-29 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dye, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
