The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Ryan Sawyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Orange saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Grooms, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Orange's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Williams, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
