The home team had come away the winner the last five times Orange and Williams had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ryan Sawyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Orange saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Grooms, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Orange's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Williams, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Orange has already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Southeast Alamance on the 23rd. Hopefully Williams paid attention to the Panthers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
