Recap: Brandeis Broncos vs. Westlake Chaparrals

The Brandeis Broncos and the Westlake Chaparrals squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Brandeis Broncos had to settle for second. They took a hard 54-39 fall against the Chaparrals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Brandeis of the 60-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rian Forestier, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Forestier is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 34 games she's played. Abigail Burdette was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Brandeis' defeat dropped their record down to 25-12. As for Westlake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Brandeis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westlake will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Churchill at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th.
