Basketball Game Preview: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Kearny Komets

Having just played yesterday, the Classical Academy Caimans will head out on the road to face off against the Kearny Komets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Classical Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Classical Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School: they outscored them in every quarter. Classical Academy strolled past Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 54-39. That 15 point margin sets a new team best for the Caimans this season.

Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Issac Chapman led the charge by going 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points. Corben Cornes was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Kearny came up short against Monte Vista on Friday and fell 89-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Komets still had to take the loss.

Kearny's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Classical Academy came up short against Kearny in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 64-54. Can Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
