Football Game Preview: Philip Simmons Iron Horses vs. Burke Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Philip Simmons Iron Horses are taking a road trip to take on the Burke Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Philip Simmons is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Philip Simmons made easy work of Woodland and carried off a 39-14 win. The Iron Horses pushed the score to 29-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philip Simmons to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayes Goddard, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Those 302 passing yards gave Goddard a new career-high. Omonte Taylor helped Goddard out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Burke had to take the L. They were beaten by Timberland 74-0 on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Burke and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Philip Simmons, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Philip Simmons against Burke when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Iron Horses since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
