Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Crystal Lake South's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

While Crystal Lake South didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Lakes Eagles by a score of 53-43 on Saturday. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered a 51-22 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Lakes lost, don't look at Kaylee Anderson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Anderson has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Wrenna Streicher, who posted eight points.

Crystal Lake South has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

As for Lakes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-42 loss against Woodstock North on the 16th.
