Baseball Recap: East Mecklenburg Comes Up Short

East Mecklenburg's last matchup with Charlotte Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Cougars, falling 13-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost eight in a row.

Malachi McCord made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew White, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

East Mecklenburg's record now sits at 10-8. As for Charlotte Catholic, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Coming up, Charlotte Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Carmel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carmel Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.93 runs per game on average), something Charlotte Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of.
