Softball Recap: Interlachen Comes Up Short

Interlachen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beachside Barracudas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Barracudas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in February.

Baileigh Riddley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Poole, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Interlachen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Beachside, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Interlachen will head out to face off against P.K. Yonge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Wave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.67 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Beachside, they will welcome Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
