Volleyball Game Preview: Ninilchik Wolverines vs. Cordova Wolverines

Ninilchik hasn't had much luck against Cordova recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Ninilchik will look to defend their home court against Cordova at 3:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Saturday, Ninilchik came up short against Lumen Christi and fell 3-1.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Cordova and Susitna Valley, and Susitna Valley kept the tradition alive. The Wolverines fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-21 in the first set.

Cordova started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 15-8.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Ninilchik, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
