Preview: Beaumont Cougars vs. Redlands Terriers
Beaumont is 3-0 against Redlands since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Beaumont Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Redlands Terriers at 7:00 p.m. Beaumont will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Beaumont humbled Redlands East Valley with a 56-12 victory. The result was nothing new for Beaumont, who have now won six matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Christopher Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 201 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Braedon Miller, who picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Beaumont's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Christian Cooper and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Redlands fell victim to Yucaipa's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Thunderbirds 34-0. Redlands' loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Beaumont has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight games, giving them a 7-1 record. Redlands has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Beaumont against Redlands when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 56-14 victory. Does Beaumont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redlands turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
