Baseball Recap: Dierks Comes Up Short

Dierks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the Murfreesboro Rattlers. The matchup marked the Outlaws' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Maclane Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Dierks' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Murfreesboro, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dierks will challenge Bismarck at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murfreesboro, they will face off against Ouachita at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
