Basketball Recap: Gavin Herring and Tytus Lehman Secure Win for South Adams

South Adams posted their closest victory since December 13, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Whitko Wildcats 31-29. The win was nothing new for the Starfires as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading South Adams to victory were Tytus Lehman and Gavin Herring. Lehman almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, while Herring posted eight points and three steals. The game was Lehman's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Whitko lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Easton Grable, who earned 12 points. Caden Deneve was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

South Adams' victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Whitko, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

South Adams will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodlan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitko, they will head out on the road to take on North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Whitko is facing North Miami at the right time seeing as North Miami is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
