Basketball Recap: Dawson Springs Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Dawson Springs won the last time they faced Community Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Dawson Springs Panthers put the hurt on the Community Christian Warriors with a sharp 79-56 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Dawson Springs had a senior duo take command as Montgomery Johnston dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards and Rex Blue went 5 for 7 en route to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Blue has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times he's played. Deacon Dever was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Dawson Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Dawson Springs' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.9 points per game. As for Community Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson Springs will face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Community Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fort Campbell at 7:00 p.m.
