Baseball Recap: Mulberry Grove Comes Up Short

Mulberry Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 6-0 to the Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles. The Aces were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Mulberry Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

Mulberry Grove and Brownstown/St. Elmo could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Aces (ranked 622nd) will meet Altamont (ranked 150th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Brownstown/St. Elmo will challenge Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (515 vs. 147).
