 The Skutt Catholic SkyHawks will take on the Crete Cardinals at 12:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the  contest red-hot, with Skutt Catholic sitting on  six straight  victories and Crete on five.
 Skutt Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Nebraska's top teams: Roncalli Catholic, who was ranked 21st in their home state at the time (Skutt Catholic was ranked fifth). Skutt Catholic walked away with  a   3-1  win over Roncalli Catholic  on Wednesday.
 Skutt Catholic hit Roncalli Catholic with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from 
 Ben Schendt, 
 Ridge Jackson,  and 
 Cole Essner.
 Roncalli Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but  on Saturday Crete proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Crimson Pride by a score of  3-1.
 Skutt Catholic pushed their record up to 14-4 with that  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. As for Crete, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record  this season.
 Everything went Skutt Catholic's way against Crete in their previous matchup  back in May of 2021 as Skutt Catholic made off with  a  6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skutt Catholic since the  team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
