Basketball Game Preview: Central Springs Panthers vs. New Hampton Chickasaws

The Central Springs Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the New Hampton Chickasaws at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central Springs can't be too worried about heading out to take on New Hampton: they just beat Newman Catholic at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Central Springs secured a 45-39 W over Newman Catholic on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, New Hampton strolled past South Winneshiek with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 61-45.

The win got Central Springs back to even at 9-9. As for New Hampton, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.

Central Springs beat New Hampton 55-45 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
