 Exeter was the  3-2 winner over Selma when they last played one another  last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Exeter Monarchs fell just short of the Selma Bears by a score of  9-8 on Thursday.
  Jacob Molina was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 3-for-3.  Ruben Ruiz was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-5.
 Even though they lost, Exeter was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with four  doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Selma didn't  hit any.
 On Selma's side,  Jovani Tovar looked comfortable as he  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Matthew Mora, who  went 4-for-4 with five  RBI, a  triple,  and a  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Braden Francis, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs and a  triple.
 Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Selma, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
 As of now, neither Exeter nor Selma have any future games scheduled.
