Basketball Recap: Pine Hill Skates Past Cottonwood Classical Prep with Ease

Pine Hill won the last time they faced Cottonwood Classical Prep and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pine Hill Warriors blew past the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes 56-24.

Pine Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kirra Smith out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Smith is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Natan, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Cottonwood Classical Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savannah Bingham had three points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave Bingham a new career-high in steals.

Pine Hill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Pine Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-35 victory against Hozho Academy on the 10th. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-26 defeat against Wingate on the 10th.
