Baseball Recap: Orcutt Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against San Luis Obispo Classical Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orcutt Academy). They put the hurt on the San Luis Obispo Classical Academy Grizzlies with a sharp 12-6 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Joshua Chambers, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Brady, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Orcutt Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for San Luis Obispo Classical Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Orcutt Academy and San Luis Obispo Classical Academy will both be playing Coast Union the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will host the Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
