Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Leopards vs. Champion Golden Flashes

The Liberty Leopards will head out to take on the Champion Golden Flashes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-14, which was the final score in Liberty's tilt against LaBrae on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 757th, while the Vikings are ranked 226th).

Meanwhile, Champion took a blow against Crestview on Tuesday, falling 60-18. The Golden Flashes have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Liberty took a serious blow against Champion in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 59-16. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
