Volleyball Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Elk Grove Thundering Herd, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thundering Herd this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Sheldon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Elk Grove's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 27-25.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Elk Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Sheldon will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Grove, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Cosumnes Oaks on the 16th.
