Volleyball Recap: Amarillo Comes Up Short

Amarillo's tournament run continued when they took on Walnut Grove on Friday. The Sandies fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Sandies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Walnut Grove to victory were Lauren Aguilar and Maleah Evans. Aguilar had 29 digs and two assists, while Evans had 17 assists and nine digs. With that strong performance, Aguilar is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Amarillo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Walnut Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Amarillo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against McKinney on the 22nd. As for Walnut Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Plano West on the 22nd.
